Following are some photos of my recent works. “Storm on the River” is the last in my series of paintings of the rivers and backwaters in our area. I continue to find inspiration in nature. The skies, the waters, the hills and valleys, the creatures of the natural world all awaken my desire to tell their story with paints on canvas or paper, capturing the movement, the drama and excitement of life.

Artist Statement:       I have recently developed a passion for painting flowers -  flowers with personality, flowers with an abstract freedom; flowers that explode across the canvas with riotous summer color or quietly emerge from the shadows of the woodlands.  This has been a good project and a welcome break from my last endeavor which was writing a humorous memoir complete with comical drawings I created for each chapter. It was wonderful work, but took me away from painting for over a year as I struggled to complete the book in 2019. It’s entitled “Are You Still Hip?”, beginning with a delightful account of the 1960’s cultural revolution, and culminating in how we have creatively met the challenges of our brave new world. It’s a hoot!
