I utilize objects to create sculptures as small as a bar of soap to larger than life human figures. I use the flotsam and jetsam of life found around the often ignored edges of our world. I collect my materials from along wooded trails, pushed into fencing at a scrap yard, scattered across a flea market table, or deposited in the mud of a river bank. I gravitate to working in a series format as I create...she-rhines, awesome-blahs, found-object, family figures, schools of fish-stix, nest forms and books with social themes.
I grew up in the northern suburbs of Minneapolis, attended college at Mankato State (BS in Art Education), taught K-12 art for 13 years in rural schools of northern Minnesota, got married, had two kids, got divorced, got remarried, left teaching in 1997, and now I make art. I sell my work in the region, Florida and nationwide as part of Art-o-Mat program--Google it! That's all.
