Artist Statement: I'm a native of Guttenberg, Iowa and started creating silver spoon jewelry from silver-plate flatware 15 years ago when I saw something similar in a shop and thought “Hey, I can do that.” What started off as a two-person venture, soon turned into a one-woman show. I taught myself how to drill, bend, and polish to repurpose old silverware into decorative personal adornment. I'm motivated by the joy of simply creating... “I do it for a hobby, I don’t want it to be a stressful job; just fun, relaxing… It’s amazing the outcome when you get it all done.”
Much of my silverware is either donated by friends or purchased at auctions. “It’s like a treasure hunt.”
I work at the Crossing Rivers Health pharmacy in Prairie du Chien, WI and live on a farm near Monona, Iowa
