Artist Statement: Liza is a self-taught visual artist & jewelry designer born and raised in South Africa, now living in Mc Gregor, Iowa.
For over 26 years she has exhibited and sold her artwork and jewelry, traveling and living in England, Scotland, South Africa and Australia.
Liza is deeply passionate about what she creates; all of her work is derived from her imagination, Universal Consciousness and the natural world.

“I love painting all things imaginative, symbolic, and inspired by our connection to Nature and the Universe in a visionary way, incorporating mythical, archetypal, folk and fantasy elements. My main artistic influences include Art Nouveau, Symbolism and Magical Realism.”

Her mediums include watercolors, print making, wax sculpture for her pewter jewelry casting, acrylics and pen & ink. Recently, she has been experimenting with different forms of mono-type and mixed media painting, and also incorporating semi-precious gemstones into her jewelry making.
