Artist Statement: I started throwing pottery in my mid twenties and am totally self taught. My influence in art came from my husband (and his friends) who was an art teacher for over forty years. Over the years my art has evolved to include my love of nature and the environment around me. I am hopeful that we can treat mother earth with the respect it deserves as the support system for our very existence.
In the late 70's I started a small art fair in rural northern Grant Co., in one of the few historic two story school houses in Wisconsin. The Hidden Hamlet Art Fair is still going strong to this day.
Art for me is a way of life build into the fiber of our lives. It's who we are, how we think, and the way we live our lives. A person doesn't always need to put art down on paper, mould it in clay, or design it in 3D. Our art can be visualized, or maybe a thought, or even just a feeling. Everyone is an artist when we open our eyes to the world around us.
